Belize is 8,867 square miles and is almost the same size as New Hampshire (8,969 mi. sq).

Once again, there's no point in asking me why I chose this country when it wasn't any of my choices (Panama, Costa Rica, Columbia … ). But from what I've learned so far, Belize does seems like an interesting place, not one that I'd be fond of visiting though.

Father of Democracy: Philip Goldson
Philip S. W. Goldson was a newspaper editor, activist and politician from Belize. He served in the House of Representatives of Belize as a member for the Albert constituency and was a minister twice. Philip was a founding member of both of Belize's current major political parties, the People's United Party and the United Democratic Party later on. Not only that, but he was also the leading spokesman of the uncompromising anti-Guatemalan territorial claims National Alliance for Belizean Rights party.

At this point and time, a blood bank in Belize is having a blood shortage because the Ministry of Health forgot to order kits to test the blood of donors, basically, they have people willing to donate blood, but they don't have kits to ensure that the blood is safe, therefore, there is a blood shortage and the hospital (Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital) has stopped operations. All of this information leads me to believe that the government is corrupted in one way or another.

Lowest point: Sea level
Highest point: Doyle's Delight at 1,124 m (3,688 ft)

Belize has a relatively tropical climate, with dry season taking up January to April and wet season starting mid-May and ending in December. Tropical climate, of course, has drawbacks, such as hurrican season which lasts from June to late November. Humidity and annual temperatures are normally high and the temperatures remain fairly constant year round.

For the small country Belize is, it's surprising how broad their geographical variety is. Starting on the coast we have the Great Maya Barrier Reef. From center of the country stretching southwest is the Maya Mountains. There is in fact, a lot for tourists to see if they were to visit.
