For two decades, Africa’s strong economic growth has paved the way for poverty reduction. Nevertheless, high chronic poverty levels persist, and the gap between income groups in terms of human capital and access to basic services is growing. Also, poor households are vulnerable to frequent shocks. By providing regular, reliable support to poor households and helping them invest in productive activities, targeted interventions such as safety nets help reduce persistent poverty, reverse the trend of increasing inequality, and build household resilience. Until recently, safety nets were implemented only on an ad hoc basis in Africa. However, in the wake of the global economic crisis, policy makers are increasingly viewing safety nets as core instruments for reducing poverty and managing risk.

https://openknowledge.worldbank.org/entities/publication/e0d6e304-258a-5281-813a-fe863506e87b

Poverty means not having enough money for food, clothes, or a home. One cause of poverty is corruption. This is when leaders take money that should help people. Corruption makes it hard to get good schools and hospitals. It also makes rich people richer and poor people poorer. Other bad things like unfair treatment and violence make poverty worse.

In the case if poverty dissapear it would have a significant change. It would be a world of no homelessness, no unemployment and no charities. Societies would brim with high literacy rates and be only minutely affected by infant mortality rates. But it has a disadvantage, without economic probles the cost of things and food will increase. An extra fact is that Jeffrey Sachs, an American economist and author, has recently calculated that the world can stop poverty in 20 years at an annual cost of 175 billion dollars. Also, this global organization, which includes 30 countries (OECD), is responsible for raising money and distributing it to poor countries.

APA: Kimaro, C.

Correspondingly, about two-thirds of Americans (68%) disagree with the statement “Hard work offers little guarantee of success,” while just 30% agree with that statement. Opinions on this issue also were much more even divided in the early 1990s; in 1992, 45% endorsed the idea that hard work does not offer a clear path to success. By comparison, there has been more consistency in the public’s overwhelmingly positive view of people who become wealthy through hard work.
