Last week Huyen came here and we had f2f catch-up instead of weekly catch-up online. Not only did we talk about our work but we also chatted about a lot of other work and non-work related things. The 30-min catch-up turned to 1 hour and I felt so happy. I thought my love language is "Words of affirmation", but may be "Quality time" is a secondary love language of mine.

I once heard in a podcast that words can manifest. Positive words don’t just make us feel good, they can actually attract positive things into our lives.

For me, positive words are more than sweet compliments. They also include constructive feedback. When shared with care, honesty and respect, feedback can motivate, empower and help us grow.

I still remember my first "bác” at RMIT 🤗, back in the time when I doubted myself most, he always reminded me of what I did well and gently guided me on what could be improved. I learned so much from that and gradually strengthened my self-efficacy in a psychologically safe environment, which I truly appreciated.

Now, I’m fortunate to be in our team where we celebrate accomplishments together and give constructive feedback 💖. As a young professional (Gen Z? 🤭) still with much to improve, I also try to encourage and practise with my smaller team so that we can both give and receive constructive words, so we can progress as a team and also grow individually (and I hope my teammates can feel the same, not pressured 😆).

Thank you Chi Phuong the boss and Hong Chau, for bringing this together and giving us the space to reflect and appreciate (❁´◡`❁)

We all like receiving gifts (as rewards), don’t we? I was grateful for the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and skills through post graduate programs at RMITVN, in addition to the opportunity for job promotion. Though this is my primary love language, my second love language, which is words of affirmation, also helps to motivate myself to do my job to the best. I felt so appreciated when our team was nominated for the RMIT VN award category of Living RMIT’s Values Award (Impact passion). Thought the nomination was unsuccessful for this year’s award, we are grateful for being recognized for our contribution to enhance student employability, academic quality, and industry collaboration. I was also moved to receive the thank-you message (via recognition kudo platform) from my colleague for the support, guidance, and collaboration we have been working together. Thank you, c Phuong, Tram and sisters to make my life at RMIT more meaningful! Love you all (chut chut)!

Even though Sunday is usually my family and church day, I was grateful for the chance to spend it supporting the event, as well as a full day on Tuesday. The academic team and my boss kindly supported me with OT, and the teaching team’s thoughtful lunch invitation made me feel truly appreciated. Still, the real highlight was attending the student presentations—they were amazing and so inspiring! It reminded me that my love language is not only practical support, but also the joy of being rewarded in meaningful ways.

Since no one picked Physical Touch, I’ll claim it just to stand out 😎. In our team, “physical touch” doesn’t mean dramatic hugs or handshakes worthy of Hollywood movies 😆.

A normal morning for me could look like this: high-five chị Thanh on the way to grab breakfast, blow a playful air-kiss to chị Trang, give sếp Dung a shoulder pat while asking how she’s doing, then swing by 2.2.20 to say hello to all the beautiful ladies. These tiny gestures are my way of spreading love and healing energy at work—because our days deserve more than just emails and deadlines 💕.

As I reflect on my preferred love languages in the workplace, I’ve realized how much quality time contributes to a healthy and productive team dynamic. While professional skills and competencies are essential, I believe that truly effective teamwork stems from genuine human connection—understanding not just what our colleagues do, but who they are.

Spending quality time with colleagues—whether through casual lunches, team outings, or shared travel experiences—creates a space where trust can flourish. These moments allow us to see beyond roles and responsibilities, and instead recognize the values, hobbies, and personalities that make each person unique. I’ve found that when we engage in these social activities, it becomes easier to collaborate, communicate openly, and ask for support when needed.

One of my most cherished memories at work involves long trips and shared meals with the team. These experiences helped me feel more connected and grounded, and they reminded me that work can be both meaningful and enjoyable. When we invest time in building relationships, we create a sense of belonging that motivates us to contribute our best.

In a fast-paced environment where deadlines and KPIs often dominate, it’s easy to overlook the importance of interpersonal connection. But I believe that when we prioritize quality time, we foster a workplace culture that is not only productive but also supportive, inclusive, and joyful.

(I am writing this reflection because I love this initiative from the Boss, not just because of the voucher 😊)

It has been a privilege for me to be a part of the TBS Blended Learning Design team contributing to Canvas uplift project that enhances a seamless learning experience for all students. Being involved in this initiative has allowed me to bring my teaching background to life and align my work with RMIT’s academic standards — an experience that has truly enriched my professional journey.

My heartfelt thanks go to Chị Phương for trusting me with this opportunity and encouraging my growth, Chị Hiền for her kind support in covering my workload, anh Kevin for all of the trainings, and Thanh Le and Minh Ngo for their hands-on training, guidance, and tireless 24/7 support throughout the process. I really miss our mid-night chit chats, by the way :).

I am deeply grateful to be part of such a collaborative and inspiring team, and this experience has further strengthened my passion for contributing to innovative and student-centered education. Thank you and love you all!

My little story about my beautiful boss chị Châu. My boss invited me for matcha and lunch with my favorite " miến ngan" to celebrate my 7th work anniversary, which made the day really special. She’s not only my boss but also a dear friend who has supported and encouraged me throughout my journey. I truly appreciate her kindness and the thoughtful way she always makes people feel valued.

I’ve realised that practical support is really my love language. Little actions, helping out, checking in, or making things easier without being asked, all mean so much to me. They make me feel cared for in a very real, everyday way. I really appreciate the little check-ins, not just about work, but about life too, like asking how my boys are doing. Those moments mean a lot to me and make me feel genuinely supported.

I also want to say a big thank you for all the lovely gifts kakakaka. They honestly made me smile and felt like sweet reminders to slow down and take better care of myself (which I definitely need sometimes 😄). I really appreciate the thought and care behind every one of them.

Thank you so much for the kindness and care. You have no idea how much it means to me 💛
