Absenteeism creates a gap in the child's learning which defeats the purpose of learning. Parents and learners need to be aware that absenteeism affects learning because learners fall behind and find it difficult to catch up. Parents need to understand that learners cannot be absent without a valid reason because it disrupts their learning.
