In the Roaring '20s, it was all about beauty! Girls had short, spunky hair, usually worn curled. Their makeup was flawless and very sharp. The clothes that were worn often were gowns, almost always decorated with beads, fringe, and other materials. Men wore dress pants and shirts, and usually wore hats. As far as accessories go, you could never go wrong with a long pearl necklace!

The '20s was all about parties, but when the '30s rolled around, it was all about elegance! Long silky dresses, and tall high heeled shoes were worn by every women. Long legs, and skinny bodies were what was considered to be the version of "beauty". Curly hair was a necessity! Men usually wore tuxedos and hats as well.

While this was the time of the Great Depression, the clothing was the complete opposite. Bright colors worn by both men and women were very popular. Most men wore their army uniforms, but the women wore long knee-length skirts, and usually patriotic colors (such as red, white, and blue).

The '50s was a very iconic time for fashion. The image of the "tall and skinny" women of being beautiful was thrown out, and it was more socially accepted to be "plus size". Many peices of clothing was high waisted, even the males! Bold colors and color blocking was trendy as well. For shoes, men and women both wore tap shoes, and wearing your hair slicked back (men), and up in a bun (women), was very popular.

This fashion era was all about "bringing back the youth". Bright colors (neons), and sandals were a HUGE trend. The '60s is described as the people looking "baby doll" like. Mary Janes, and strappy shoes were worn by men and women, and oversized collars were the trendiest accessory.

This period of fashion was what was considered to be "disco". Men and women fashion was very similar, as compared to earlier years in history. Thigh high boots and platform shoes were worn by everyone. Bell Bottom jeans, and flarred out sleeves was the most popular. Headbands were worn by women, and men often wore hats as well!

The '80s was a time of retro! Almost every peice of clothing was made with velvet. Turtle necks, and high waisted bottoms were very popular among the youth. For women, bright colored and patterned leggings, along with teased up hair was trendy. Everything was very neon and "loud", espically the makeup!

The '90s was an era that was very split. Hip Hop culture had a huge impact on the fashion. Air Jordans, along with baggy pants that "sagged", and oversized t-shirts were ruled to be the most popular. The reason behind this is because of Hip Hop becoming very mainstream. What the artists wore is what the youth wore.

Toward the end of the '90s, the "Hip Hop" trend was becoming less popular, and more people became intrested in the "grunge" trend. Ripped jeans, flannel shirts, messy, overgrown hair was popular. Less people were wearing Jordans, and more people wore Boots, or Vans.

2017, as everyone knows as many different trends... it is very diverse and is socially acceptable to be different, but yet everyone still follows trends. Tight jeans, messy hair, and sporty shoes (such as Nikes, Addidas, or Jordans) is worn by the young, as well as the old! The trends today are all based around the youth culture.
