The clothes that were worn often were gowns, almost always decorated with beads, fringe, and other materials. Men wore dress pants and shirts, and usually wore hats. The image of the "tall and skinny" women of being beautiful was thrown out, and it was more socially accepted to be "plus size". Many peices of clothing was high waisted, even the males! Bold colors and color blocking was trendy as well.
