Recently, I watched Miss Universe Philippines and I have various reaction to it because I am a fan of pageantry since forever. Teleseryes like Dirty Linen, is one of the things I watch almost every night before going to sleep because it is so exciting with all of the plot twist. I also watch movies like The Reunion where opm songs are highlighted. When it comes to music industry, I listen to Orange & Lemons, Rivermaya, Adie, Dilaw and many more. It amazes me how music changes over time. And of course Trese, it is a Filipino anime film. I love it because it highlights the mythical creatures of the Philippines like tikbalang, nuno sa punso, and many more. Now, Philippines also produces anime films. Since our first Miss Universe Philippines won, Filipino are now more on watching and being a fan of Pageantry. Filipinos would watch whenever there is a Miss Universe coronation whether they are at home, at work, or at school. I remember during the coronation of Pia Wurtzbach or Catriona Gray (not sure who), I was in my school and our teacher stopped teaching for that day and we watched the coronation together with my classmates. The pageantry gave impact in our community today and a lot are also helping or sponsoring just for our "manok" to win. Some fan clubs are also helping their candidate in terms of the funds. However, changes involve critics in arguing that beauty pageants can also lead to negative consequences such as low self-esteem and body image issues. It is important to consider both the positive and negative effects of these events when evaluating their overall impact on society. Ultimately, it is up to individuals to decide whether or not they want to participate in such events based on their own personal values and beliefs. The pop culture is very prominent in today's age.
