Natural habitat/world location: Found in the forests of Mauritius (small island off the coast of Madagascar)

3. Diet and role in the ecosystem: Herbivores consuming fallen fruits, nuts, seeds, bulbs, and roots.

4. Features/adaptations: Dodo was a flightless bird who was related to a pigeon. Gray and white in color with a yellowish beak. With no predators they grew to be 20 kg! Hooked beak allowed the bird to easily break up food.

5. Cause of extinction: Humans:( When sailors reached the island they were easily able to catch the dodo. Having no predators on the island they had no fear of the sailors (big mistake). The dodo became dinner.
6. Time of extinction: Last sighting of the bird was in 1652
7. The male had a pinkish body and blue-gray head. Passenger pigeons had a small head and neck; long tail; long, broad and pointed wings; and particularly large breast muscles that enabled them to fly for long distances. The pigeon could eat and digest 100 g (3.5 oz) of acorns per day.
5. Cause of extinction:
The extinction of the Passenger pigeon had two major causes; commercial exploitation of pigeon meat on a massive scale and loss of habitat.
6. Time of extinction:
September 1, 1914
7. Interesting facts:
The passenger pigeon's common name comes from the French term pigeon de passage, referring to the massive migrations of these birds across the sky. The great auk was found in the cold North Atlantic coastal waters along the coasts of Canada, the northeastern United States, Norway, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Ireland, Great Britain, France, and the Iberian Peninsula.

3.Great auks were highly specialized piscivores, usually eating fish that were 140/190 mm long, and favoring a high fat content. The young may have eaten smaller fish or zooplankton.

4.The large black bill bore eight or more transverse grooves. The bird stood erect on land. It had a black back and head, a white front, and a large white spot between the bill and eye. Utterly defenseless, great auks were killed by rapacious hunters for food and bait, particularly during the early 1800s.

5.Their fat, eggs, and feathers were sold as commercial goods. By the 1770s, overhunting threatened the species. Museums and collectors took an avid interest in the great auk as its population declined, but overhunting and changes to the species' environment contributed to the species' extinction.

6.It looked like a penguin. The great auk was revered of native americans. Great auks mated for life. Nothing really interesting about this animal there kinda boring.

By:adrien

There were different variations of the smilodon but they were all carnivorous predators.

4: The saber tooth tiger was one of the more recent examples of saber toothed cats. The smilodon had adaptations in the skull shape to make room for neck muscles used during hunting. The cat’s teeth were designed to slash tissue. Steller's sea cow had small head, large upper lip, mouth without teeth, two stout forelimbs, huge body and flat, paddle-shaped tail.

4.
