Symbols and colours that signify ordination are the cross. The cross symbolises Jesus and how he sacrificed himself so that humans could continue onward with God's word. A second symbol is the holy Bible and Gospel as these two books are both use in the mass of ordination of a priest, deacon or bishop. A colour that is related with ordination includes white as can be seen in the picture 'during the ordination' both the new priests, deacons or bishops are wearing white as well as the previous priest, deacons and bishops.

Firstly you must be granted permission to be ordained and to ensure you know what you are vowing to. The mass will commence and many blessings and prayers will be read. The name Jesus is repeated until it is believed that all the previous sins that may have been there have been erased. There is then the anointing of the new priest's hands where the previous bishop anoints. This is seen as preparation for duties as a priest, deacon or bishop.
