         <description><![CDATA[<div>-----------------------------------------<br><br>Elie is the main character of the book, and we see his perspective of his life during WWII. Wiesel lived to tell the story but sadly none of his family did. Elie lived to be 88 years old.          <title>New Understanding</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I did not realize that before Jews were even moved from their homes that their churches were shut down. If the churches weren´t shut down they would be vandalized. Jews would be torched, killed or beaten if they had even gone to the church in secret.&nbsp; If the Jews were moved they were moved into houses of their friends down the street, they had no food or water when it came to jumping houses.          <description><![CDATA[<div>-----------------------------------------<br>Jews were starved to death.&nbsp; Elie shared a story about how they had several children in the bunks that were his age.&nbsp; Sometimes they would run out of food in the bunks, only half or a fourth of the men would eat.&nbsp; Wiesel would share with other boys in the bunks, they would also take turns if someone was sick, if they were found ill they would be sent to the chambers.&nbsp; In the camps you were never fed anything with protein, every meal consisted of soup and maybe bread.<br><br><a href="https://media.gettyimages.com/videos/liberated-concentration-camp-w-two-young-teen-jewish-boys-standing-in-video-id510789739?s=640x640">https://media.gettyimages.com/videos/liberated-concentration-camp-w-two-young-teen-jewish-boys-standing-in-video-id510789739?s=640x640</a></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-----------------------------------------<br>Elie describes in the book that he thought that he would be able to see his mother, grandmother and sisters again. Upon entering the camp he was separated from everyone but his father. Elie was sent to the part of the camp for work with his father.
