Hello! My name is Kameron and I work in TU's Academic Advising, Retention and Completion Office. I began working at TU in September of 2024 as AARC's Front Office Coordinator. Next week, I'll be moving into a new position with AARC - Academic Advisor for Transitioning Students.

Could Lead/Discuss: I am still new to higher education, but I do enjoy discussing my experiences working with transitioning students. I think an interesting topic of conversation that I have explored in the past is the process of entering higher education as a student. How do we develop students' confidence in navigating an entirely new world like higher education?

Interested In: I am interested in learning more about anything AI instruction/training related as it concerns students - I have a background in teaching English, both at the high school and university level. I am also interested in listening to everyone's experiences working with students, and perhaps gaining some knowledge on how student communities are formed.

Hello! My name is Lucero (pronounced lou-seh-row). I am an academic advisor with the AARC team in Cook Library. I recently finished my first year at TU in April. Work with first-year students, open majors, those on academic warning/probation, and I am the liaison for the Freshmen Transition Program (FTP). I can lead topics about first-generation college students and insight about incoming first-year student profiles (I graduated during the pandemic and taught middle/high school before going into advising). One topic I would like to see is how to engage students who are struggling with social expectations and mental health.
