My CRT action plan is to learn more about my students experience with travel before getting to the velocity unit. I will implement a 4 corner survey to talk about what we have in common and what experiences are useful in speaking of "speedy" travel. When I have base info on my students, then I can tailor the lessons to address differing forms of travel, not just driving as most of my students can't drive yet. I hope this action plan will get them more engaged and inspire more wonder on the topic.

My CRT action plan is to gamify current assignments in the supply and demand unit so that students are more engaged in the material. I want to turn worksheets for differentiating between supply and demand on a graph into matching games where students race against each other. Students would work with one other partner to help find the appropriate graph given a scenario, then move on to the next scenario, all the way through each graph until they have correctly identified all available scenarios. I could also implement "rounds" or "stations" where students may perform the task in different ways.

My CRT action plans begins on Day 1. Instead of calling roll, I will ask students to make a name tag, and on the instide of the name tag I will ask them to provide three things, as will be posted on the board. (TBD at this moment). Then, I will inform students they will communicate with me something from the list before they leave. They have to introduce themselves and tell me who they are pronouncing their own names first so I don't butcher the pronunciation. As they do this, I record notes and phonetic spelling of their names. Then I collect name tags and read what they have included at the end of the day. The name tags are used for a few weeks, as I don't do a seating chart, which gives me time to reread what's on the inside and continue to build an understanding of who they are.

My CRT action plan is to reintroduce weekly writing prompts on Fridays. I will share out my response first, then I will ask students to summarize their response with their table partner. Then students will be encouraged to share out with the class. This will foster an environment of empathy and open communication. It will also allow me to tie current concepts/themes of what we are reading in class to their personal lives.
