There are many different ways that stories can be told. Point of view means who is telling the story. There are 3 types of point of view:

For this activity, you will only need to focus on first and third person. Second person is not as common but still important to study!

The most common POV's are first person and third person.

First Person: the narrator is a character in the story
- The narrator uses words like: I, me, my, we, us
- Example: "I went to the park with my friends."
Third Person: The narrator is not a character, just telling the story from the outside.
- The narrator uses words like: he, she, they, them
- Example: "Sally walked her dog on the beach."
