One example is nuclear energy and what it is harnessed to do, but another example  is the internet. This is a pretty broad subject, but I don't think I have seen dual use applied to it. The internet can do many good things, by bringing people together and spreading the word about important causes. However it can also be used to facilitate propaganda or to influence elections, make illegal transactions, and bring harm to people in other inderect ways. Even Oppenheimer touches on this when he says the laws on nuclear weapons should have been put in place 20 years ago. The scientists kept working hard even after V-E day, showing that they were kind of taken over by the fullfillment of succeeding at their level of work. I imagine something similar had come over the Nazi Engineers that we discussed in class. This kind of lust for power could just as easily taken over scientists from another country at a later date if the development stopped at Trinity. I am pro nuclear power, because I feel the risks involved are outweighed by the benefits. With thousands of nuclear warheads just chillin all over the world, it seems to be a matter of time before a war calls for their use.
