Hi everyone! Thanks for being willing to write some motivational messages for the RVHS SJB cadets :)

The messages here will be converted into physical cards and will subsequently be passed to the RVHS cadets. Hopefully, these messages will brighten up their day; provide some support and show them that SJB as an organisation supports the RVHS cadets.

Here are some simple instructions on the messages:
- Please write your name at the end of the message and what Corps/District you are from.
- Feel free to write your message in anyway that you want. Just be mindful that you are writing to 13 - 18 year old. Hence, avoid profanities; coarse language or any offensive messages.

Please sought help, be it if you are suffering from PTSD from the incident, or you are feeling stressed, facing any problems from anything, including studies, family, financial or even relationship.

There are many avenues that tou can seek help from, including all of us from then St. John family.

It has been rough days for you and we share your grief over the loss of a fellow student. Please, allow me to ease your pain. What I can give, is some sort of a poem, a song, and copious amounts of encouragement.

Remember, “You have within you more love than you could ever understand.”(~ Rumi). Even if you are going through HELL right now, there's a good chance at least 1% of your life is going well. Be grateful for that 1%. Enjoy having that 1%. Cherish it. This can help you deal with and convert the other 99%. There is so much more to life than whatever we are thinking, and we can always hope that tomorrow will be better!

From the bottom of my heart, I hope that you can find support, express yourselves, coexist with your feelings and emerge from the darkness stronger. You are immeasurably precious to all of us, so please take care of yourself and love yourself! There are many people who want to help you and there is probably a shoulder that you can lean on to.

Dear RV SJB,
It is indeed unfortunate that such an incident had taken place in your place of education, your place of enjoyment, for some of you — your second home.

But do remember, while it may be hard to cope with the shock of the incident, shying away from it will not help either. Recognize what happened, discuss about it if you wish, the most important thing is to stay united and to acknowledge the incident, then have meaningful conversations with your loved ones and friends about how you feel and ultimately, they will be there to support you no matter what.

Don’t suffer in silence, reach out to someone you trust to talk to them. You are not alone, you are never alone.

Just remember, your friends, family, and this SJ family, will always have your back.

Dear RVHS SJB,
No words could describe my shock at learning about the incident. What I was heartened to see in the following days was the solidarity in which the community rallied around RVHS. From the penning of encouraging notes, delivery of care packages and even a heartwarming video by the graduated cohorts. They were testament to the strength of the RVHS community and the grace, compassion and solidarity which Minister for Education spoke of.
Remember that amidst the strive for excellence, self-care is also important and please do look out for each other, especially those who are shy to speak out. Do not hesitate to give your teachers, counsellors a shout if you need support. Take care! Jiayou!!

Heyyo RVHS!! I know that it is a difficult time and that the tragic incident is definitely a REALLY SAD one🥺,but never ever worry we are here for you as friends and family💝🤗. Students of RVHS, we (fellow Singaporeans) were just as alarmed as you were when the tragic accident happened. Know that we will support you in case you need any help. Most importantly, we need to get to grips with reality. We must collect ourselves, maintain a positive attitude and take the necessary measures to make sure this never happens again. We understand that you may be frightened, but please do not overthink and become paranoid. From this point on, hold a watchful gaze for anything out of the ordinary, but otherwise try to return to normal life. It is astronomically unlikely that such a tragedy will happen again.
Remember to stay strong and bounce back!

I can't begin to imagine how all of you feel. It's okay to take your time, let your emotions run a little and process your thoughts and feelings on your own terms. Just know that your family and friends are always there for you should you need them. Take care of yourselves and hey, you'll be okay!

Although no matter how much comfort and encouragement we give will help you to forget the traumatic experience you have gone through during that time, I hope that at least by extending my hand as both a senior in school and in CCA can help to eliminate some of the pain. You can always ask for help from your friends, seniors and teachers.

Hello RV-ians,

It definitely must have been tough and hard on you, especially psychological distress. Since End of Year examinations are nearing too, the amount of stress pilling up must be difficult to cope. Even through hard times like this, always try to stay positive and strong, never let anything bring you down. If you're feeling anxious or stress, take a deep breath and find something to distract yourself with. Of course, no one will ever truly understand how you really feel, but opening up and letting your problems out will make it seem as if a burden has been lifted off your shoulders. Always take time to do what you enjoy, and stay happy!

I know it must have been surprising and scary to experience this, even I might be scared too as well.. I just hope you guys are doing well and it’s ok to be not fine since situations like these are always overwhelming. If you ever feel down, just remember, we are all here for you.
