One distinctive feature about this speech is she is recounting the American spirit she has seen from others, instead of saying she or her husband did it herself. The assumptions were that of how there is still shat she call American spirit in many people around the country. Ted Yoho, and applied ethos to her speech in order to appeal to the public, and Mr. Yoho. She asked if he treated his wife with that behavior as well as mentioned his daughter and what he would feel if another man spoke to her that way. She used her speech as a way of making it more clear that these remarks are in no way acceptable.
