i know that we haven't known each other for that long, but the years we've been friends are enough for me to say that, nana, you are an amazing person. i am beyond grateful to the pandemic for bringing you back into my life after two long years. i'm glad that the smile on your face that always brings out your bright and approachable attitude towards everyone is back. i'm glad that the friendship we only once had is back. i'm glad that you are back.

thank you so much for letting me be myself around you. thank you for your welcoming presence that allows me and everyone else to feel safe and comfortable when talking to you. thank you for simply being you, nana.

as the new school year awaits us, i hope that you continue to be the strong; the best version of yourself. embarking on a new chapter of our lives would be far more difficult than usual, but we have one another's backs. we're all ready to help one another get through the challenges our schools throw at us. i, myself, promise to do my best to be here for you all to celebrate all our birthdays, from this day forward.

We weren't exactly close when we were both Grade 4, although, I am glad I was able to be your friend again!

I just want to thank you for being such a great friend to me, thank you for making me feel safe. You are honestly a great person to be with, I hope all of your wishes come true because you genuinely deserve them all.
