This is a large, glass opera house that overlooks the city of Hamburg. This marvel of the city was constructed 8 stories above the ancient harbor, placed on a peninsula in the river. The building was designed to have this shape for multiple reasons. One of these was that it was more structurally sound. Another reason was that it led to more space overall on the inside.
