    Last Respects- while everyone on the ship pays their last respect to South Vietnam, Ha and brother khoi does it in their own way, which is by letting go of mother’s handkerchief with Ha’s doll and Khoi’s chick.

    The Moon- the moon is meaningful to Ha because everything has changed for her in a few months while the moon stayed the same; she believes her father is watching the same moon as she is.

    Life in Waiting- the family adapts to their new life at Guam, where all refugees are staying in tents; they each have a role and a daily routine.
