Accessed 21 Feb. 2018.

The main idea of this article is that the United States leads the world with more gun –related homicides and suicides than any other country. The CDC reported in 2016 that 11,008 of 15,872 homicides in the United States were committed by a firearm. More than half of the homicides were committed by a firearm. Suicides were also an issue with firearms, 42,826 suicides reported that year 21,386 involved a firearm. You can see most of the violence and death is caused by a firearm. Supporters of gun control seek tighter restrictions on the sale and circulation of firearms.

There is no specific author of this informative text, but the source is Gale Group. The text does not have a tone but is giving important facts. The information that is given is relevant because it was written in 2017 and this is a topic that is going on right now in the world. Also I want to use this topic for my PBA. This information in the text is all massacres that have happened. One example is from October 2017 that happened in Las Vegas, Nevada. A shooter was located in a hotel and opened fired and crowd of concertgoers below. He killed 58 people then killed himself. More than 500 people were injured during the attack. After the attack gun control advocates called for the devices to be banned similarly to fully assault weapons.

This article will be very useful in providing support for my research and evidence for my argument. This article gives examples of how people question people in charge.

Samantha Sieber

2/21/18 B2

Hann, Leslie Werstein. "Mainstreaming Benefits Autistic Students." Behavioral Disorders, edited by Louise I. Gerdes, Greenhaven Press, 2010. Opposing Viewpoints. Opposing Viewpoints in Context, http://link.galegroup.com/apps/doc/EJ3010640224/OVIC?u=bcps&xid=3b341132. Accessed 27 Feb. 2018. Originally published as "Addressing Autism," District Administration, Oct. 2007, pp. 43-51.

The main idea of this article is to bring the idea of children with special needs and learning disabilities receiving appropriate education based upon their limits. In this article Leslie Werstein Hann brought the idea of “mainstreaming”, meaning to move a child out of a class room that is contained or the “pull-out classrooms” and placing them into a regular class setting. Mainstreaming is really dependent on the child and their limits, but many can benefit from this idea and special needs can be more accustom to the public. In the past it was seen as a curse or something to be ashamed of if someone was diagnosed with a mental/ physical illness. Also some children can benefit, but also need extra help and this can be received with speech, occupational, behavioral, and other therapies.

The act of individuals with disabilities education required free and appropriate education, and this has impacted many families in support for finding and helping receive education. When they first began to mainstream children they needed a way to get them help if need be, so they provided 🤬 for the students, and other help.

Hann is a freelance writer and contributor to district administration, so she has a lot of access to information and I find that she is highly credible. Her biases come from information and facts provided to her by the specific county which is, Pleasantville. In the article she has an optimistic tone, and the style is an outside point of view with important facts with the timeframe of 2006-2010.

I believe this article is very useful in developing an argument that special needs children are receiving the correct education and help. This will help me oppose views because I have learned important facts and benefits of mainstreaming.

Many policies were made throughout history to life the discrimination against LBGTQ+ groups.

In 2010, Barack Obama signed a bill banning any revoking of gay, lesbian, bisexual service members. Accessed 23 Feb. 2018.

The article titled “Mental Health” focuses on the argument between mental illness being psychological nature, made up, or actually medically explained. The author explains how society feels that people who don’t conform to the world we live in are usually labeled as mentally ill. Whereas psychologists believe it is something you take on naturally. Whether you are born with it or took it on genetically, you aren’t just labeled as mentally ill because you don’t conform to to society. Lastly, there is the belief that being mentally ill needs a medical explanation from a doctor.

Although we don’t have an author name or reliability, he shows through his willingness to provide us with evidence that he is knowledgeable about the topic. The author puts several definitions found from the dictionary and interviews with professionals to show us that his information is facts. This article was also January 12th, 2017 which is very relevant in today’s world and shows us this is a current problem in society.

This article will help tremendously with my research for my argument because it provides very accurate information that’s reliable. Accessed 1 Mar. 2018.

The main idea of this article is to support mainstreaming of children with special needs and learning disabilities, but also they are confronting issues that will surface due to inexperience. During the article they were strong advocates for mainstreaming in the city, and accustoming their students. They want to increase the graduation rate, since their student’s average rate has increased they are confident they can change this issue, and enrich their education.

City schools are prepared to offer as much support as possible, but they are very anxious that they aren’t as educated in supporting children with these needs. Overall schools want to offer a cheaper option to parents rather than waiting on lists to be in, and paying extreme fees when they can be offered the same education.

Many argue that these children will interrupt others education, and decline the graduation rate. Schools however will argue that with the help of student 🤬, and therapists will help a lot and somewhat separate students at some points of the day.

This article is very helpful because it provides both sides of the argument, and shows what other people are worried about in the process of mainstreaming students with special needs or learning disabilities. This article is written in a concerned tone, and sharing viewpoints of others as well as facts. The author is very credible because it is an article written by the New York Times, 2010-2018.

He argues that children suffer from long-term emotional problems from same-sex parenting. It takes a serious tone to present its point to the reader. Lopez uses many first-hand accounts to support his argument

The article argues that the lack of a mother or father figure causes confusion for children growing up in same-sex homes. This causes them to miss out on key social skills like gender cues. Some stigma comes from being raised by same-sex couples as well. Many of the people raised by gay couples in the article resent their parents to an extent for depriving them of a “proper” childhood.

This topic is very touchy to many people.
