Antonio Delgado is New York's 19th Congressional District's Democratic candidate. He is not an incumbent. He won the primary with 22% of 38,808 votes. This is his first time running for Congress. He attended law school at Harvard. He worked briefly as a rap artist under the name A.D. the Voice before becoming an attorney, the former rap songs having caused controversy due to anti-American lyrics. He holds more liberal ideological values. A poll conducted by Monmouth University on October 30th shows Delgado five points ahead of his Republican opponent, John Faso. He has received endorsements from from former president Barack Obama and former vice president Joe Biden, as well as Planned Parenthood. His main issues include keeping sustainable jobs, healthcare for all, and changing tax policies to put working families first.

In this Public Opinion poll Delgado is in the lead. The poll was conducted by the New York times. The sample size was only 399 people out of the 13,804 people they called so there could be a higher margin of error. The margin of error is 10 points which is about twice as large as the margin of error for a certain candidates vote share. The New York times also claims that they don't have perfect random sampling of the population since the people who respond to their surveys are too old, too white, too educated and politically engaged to accurately represent the people.

Here are 3 major issues the candidates are debating over .One of them being Health Care. Delgado is fighting for protecting people with pre-existing conditions and wants everyone to have the choice of medicare and supports planned parenthood. John Faso is fighting to keep parts of the ACA.Another major issue they are debating over immigration. John Faso wants to tighten immigration law, strengthen border security, and supports immigration reform. Delgado on the other hand thinks that we can benefit from a compassionate and sensible immigration policy. He believes we our a nation of immigrants and supports passing a clean Dream Act. Finally,Delgado and Faso are debating over gun control laws.Delgado believes in tighter gun laws and beliefs that are deadly.Faso supports the second amendment right to bear arms

We predict the winner of the election will be Antonio Delgado.

During the 2016 presidential election the state of New york voted for Hillary Clinton. So for this election they would also lean toward the Democratic party and vote Delgado since the state of New York tends to lean toward Democrats considering that its holds more democratic seats in the house of reps and its senate members are both Democrats.Another piece of evidence are the Public Opinion polls. Most of the polls show Delgado in the lead. The polls might not be hundred percent accurate but, they can give us a close prediction of who will win. Some would argue that Faso is going to win the election since he has represented the district in the house of rep. My argument is better because even though Faso has prior experience many polls have be showing the Newcomer Delgado in the lead.
