With race and segregation at the forefront of society in the United States, the two will have to face segregation and the danger it means to them and their families. <br><strong>Teaching Idea: </strong>Do a unit on the civil rights movement and talk about important leaders of the time such as Martin Luther King Jr and Rosa Parks. After students spend time learning and researching the civil rights movement read the book <em>The Lions of Little Rock</em>.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Walt Disney Animated Movie.<br>Based of the Chinese legend Hua Mulan.<br><strong>Year of Release: </strong>1998<br><strong>Movie Plot: </strong>Mulan is a young girl who disguises herself as a boy to fight in the war in place of her ill father. Girls never fought in battle but Mulan defied gender stereotypes and successfully competed in battle and returned home to her family. <br><strong>Teaching Idea: </strong>Do a lesson on basic Chinese culture and literature such as the tale of Hua Mulan.
