She studied under Fei Xiaotong, the founder of Chinese sociology. Many people first heard of her as Wang Xiaobo’s wife and their book called "Love You Like Love Life", but today more people knowing her because she is a sociologist, sexologist, and activist for LGBT rights in China. Her major academic interests are about sexuality, homosexuality, diverse sexual behaviors, marriage, and women's studies of China. As we all know, the Chinese rarely discuss sexual issues in public. Academically, her points and thoughts in Chinese society are, to some extent, an advanced, special and highly controversial existence.
