Our third mentorship meeting was October 6th at 8:00am in the conference center at prairie meadows. At this meeting we discussed the upcoming IANS convention and different opportunities available to explore today. Emile has attended an IANS convention before, so she shared some tips, and expectations to prepare me for the day. We also discussed time management skills and Emile shared valuable techniques that have benefited her. I will take her advice as I progress through the program and start to balance a greater load of classes and trying to get involved in more on campus.

Our fourth mentorship meeting was October 20th at 8:00pm over the phone. During this meeting we reflected on the IANS convention and my mentors running for one of the board positions. We also talked more about grand views student nursing association and the opportunities available to join. She connected me with more resources for getting involved on campus and ways she started to get involved when she started at grand view. We talked about my community outreach project that I just completed, and she shared very useful tips for calming nerves before giving a presentation. The last thing we talked about was the white coat ceremony, where she walked me through some expectations and things to look forward too as the semester progresses.

Our fifth meeting was November 6th at 3:30pm over the phone. During this meeting we talked about the upcoming white coat ceremony. We discussed my groups community outreach presentation and preparing to speak in front of a crowd. We talked about registering for spring semester classes and she gave me some expectations and exciting things to look forward to in 250. We decided on a time to meet and practice the head-to-toe assessment together before finals week, which will be helpful for me to walk through with someone who has completed the final before.
