Summer School - June

Over the summer I wanted to take a class so I could just get things over with. The class I took was history. History is one of my favorite subjects because it's just so interesting so I wasn't worried about the work, however, I was worried that I wouldn't have many people to talk to. Thankfully that's where I met the nicest people ever. My teacher (Mr.Lopez) was so chill, that I hardly even remember doing work there. We stayed in that class 6 hours every day yet I don't remember moments where I was bored out of my mind. My teacher would put on movies, let the whole class go outside for 20 minutes, have amazing music taste, let us use notes always for tests, give us wrestling tips, give fun useful facts about life, bring chips to my friends and me, and let us have so much free time towards the end of class. In that class I met my two friends, Sophia and Dannielle, they were so welcoming, nice, and funny to me. I wouldn't have spent my summer school with anyone else. They made my whole experience incredibly fun. The most memorable thing in that class was the last day of summer school. Mr.Lopez made us watch tons of movies, play Mario Kart, and talk to us about himself and his very heartfelt experience. My friends and I made a huge chip salad, played, and laughed that whole day. I hope this year's summer school is just as amazing as last year's..

The Griffith Observatory & The Beach - July

July was the best month ever! My favorite season is summer so it's hard to choose between moments. In July I went with my best friend (Emily) to the Griffith Observatory and it was so beautiful that day. The sunset looked like a creamsicle, the weather felt nice on my skin, and I took so many photos. My best friend and I looked around and found everything so interesting, we even saw the moon and other planets through a telescope. After we got snacks and karaoke back home. I love late-night drives. Later that month, I went to the beach again with my best friend (Emily!) and we stayed there till we saw the sunset. I loved swimming and walking around the pier with her. The sunset looked so beautiful and the water was warm! After we left and got some pizza and it was so gooddddd!

Dancing with the Staff - November

Dancing with the staff has been one of the highlights of this school year so far. At first, I was nervous to be performing in front of practically the whole school/people in general, but when the actual day came around I didn't feel that! The most memorable thing was getting ready with all the girls in the back of the rooms. When you went back there, you would see girls helping each other with their makeup/hair, complementing each other, sharing food, sharing products, and giving advice! It was so heartwarming seeing girls be girls. We all got assigned roles, my role was selling tickets. I got to sell tickets with my friend Allie. I felt professional giving tickets, wearing uniforms, and giving instructions when I gave them out. Before getting on the stage all the dancers huddled up and gave a bittersweet speech, it built my confidence so much and I felt so close to everyone. Getting on stage felt so unreal to me because we had been practicing for over a month and to me It just flew by fast! I didn't feel nervous since all the girls were hyping me up. I felt great dancing in front of everyone and it was tons of fun. I didn't want the day to end since it already felt long. I wish the event would've been extended because I had an incredible time. Hopefully, this year's Dancing with the Staff will be twice as great and I'm more than grateful to be in dance!

November 14. The week after dancing with the staff my nephew was born. This day was so precious to me since I've always wanted a little sibling. I'm the youngest of 5 and it sometimes gets boring being by myself since my siblings and I have big age gaps. To me, he felt like my little brother, not just because I was the youngest but because growing up my sister was like my mother figure to me. My mom worked a lot so my sister taught me every single little thing I know today. She taught me how to speak Spanish/English, how to sing/dance, how to walk, fed me, did my hair, and always took me out. Not only did my nephew feel like my brother but he felt like a blessing in my life. The day he was born I felt like crying for joy. Each day my love increases for him. I was scared that I wouldn't know how to handle a baby, but I loved taking care of him. Even though he was just born, the most memorable thing would be the time I took care of him by myself for hours, feeding him, putting him to sleep, changing him, and more.

Mall/Swimming with friends! - August

Over the summer, I created amazing bonds with some of the funniest people I know (Blanca, Jackson, and Gabby!). In August, we planned a hangout for Jackson's birthday! It was very hot that day, I remember sweating so much. We went out to the Chino shoppes, opened gifts, walked around until we got hungry, and decided to go to In n Out, which was not in the shoppes. We decided to walk to In n Out, and that was very memorable. We just walked there, making jokes, climbing the freeway, and overall chatting, it's fun and easy to talk to them. After we went to my friend Gabby's house. We ate, watched movies, played around, and swam. Swimming was another memorable thing because we met funny people and played with inflatables. I practically spent all day with them and I loved this day very much and even though it was simple, it was a perfect day... I hope to make more good start of school memories.
