Initially, this student never had his supplies readily available; the same supplies are used every session. We would spend up to 6 minutes finding things. He and I agreed to make a checklist to hang up next to his daily schedule of items he needs for his reading intervention sessions. We reviewed the check list before every class for the first two weeks, checking off each items as we went along. 4. Adjust and Adapt
5. Build Skill

Students struggled, got frustrated, adjusted, innovated, and learned quite a lot!  We used the Engineering Design Process for the build. 

The critical thinking skills here helped students recognize the importance of those skills.  And they had fun!??
