Lesson plan 3: Friendship in my life

In my opinion Friendship is one of the most important social relationships in an individual's life. A good friendship is filled with sincerity, affection, empathy, respect, and a lot of fun. I can count myself lucky because this kind of relationship has never been lacking in my life, in fact, I have a group of six friends with whom I share all of myself and they are ready to do the same with me. I think that to cultivate a lasting friendship, it is essential to devote precious time to unify the bonds. Besides that, I think it is very important to listen and respect each other, organize group activities where there is a chance to joke and have fun. With them I can say that I am really happy because I can be myself without feeling judged, I can talk to them about any of my external problems and they are always ready to listen to me and help me by giving me sincere advice; with them fun is never lacking in fact when I am a little down, they always manage to cheer me up. On midweek evenings we often meet at home to chat and play some board games while on weekends we go out for drinks with them. I really feel honored to have them in my life because they are able to bring out the positive aspects and I hope to succeed with them as well.

Lesson plan 11: Meeting people from different cultures: what I do and how I behave

Nowadays, unlike long ago, with globalization we have witnessed a social phenomenon, 'multiculturalism', in which social groups with different cultures, traditions and customs live together, so it is important to know how to coexist and share a common space. First of all, in order to get to know a culture other than one's own, one must be aware that one's own culture is not the most important and 'right' one, but one of many. Therefore, one must not adopt a superior and ethnocentric attitude towards the other, but have a mentality free of all prejudices and stereotypes.
It has often happened to me in my country to meet people with a culture different from my own, initially it may seem difficult to approach the 'different' but despite this I had the right empathy and curiosity to interact in a respectful manner by asking questions, not too personal, to the person in front of me. With her I confronted some aspects of the respective culture and on the other side I found the same respect that I had hoped to receive. I think that living in a multicultural country can enrich one's identity because it gives us the opportunity to see new horizons, freeing us from ignorance. To facilitate this, interculturality comes into play, an educational process that must be designed by educators to meet the educational needs of today's multicultural society.

Lesson Plan 6: : Where is your happy place? Why is it your happy place?

Having a happy place in real life is very important because it makes you connected with your surroundings and with yourself. In this place your energy is connected with the energy of the place that surrounds you and where every feature, such as the smell or the sounds, evokes good emotions and feelings. These sensations are evoked every time I go on holiday to my birthplace, Sicily . I spent my entire childhood in that place and it evokes, whenever I go there for holidays, a feeling of tranquillity, security and familiarity . It is located in a small town in the province of Messina called Gioiosa Marea, where most of my relatives live, and every time I visit them I always receive a lot of emotional warmth manifested through simple chats or through the hearty meals they always give me at lunch and dinner. Besides the family, there is always a wonderful sea and beaches surrounded by wilderness waiting for me. One of the highlights of these holidays are the evenings spent by the sea, by the light of a bonfire, food and drinks. That atmosphere may seem so simple but for me it is precious because it cheers me up and lightens my mind, it takes me away from all the worries of everyday life. I hope to return there again this summer, perhaps with my friends because I would love to share a part of me with them.

Lesson Paln 1: How to study: this is what I do now and what I used to do in the past.

Having an exact study method in school life is crucial to learning a subject as quickly and efficiently as possible. During my early years as a high school student, I had difficulty finding my ideal study method. It seemed to me that any methodology was ineffective and that I would forget all the studying after a short time. During the last few years, my professors advised me several times to outline the subject through a concept map. As time went by, I noticed that this method, although quite lengthy, helped me to imprint the concepts well in my mind and with a simple superficial reading I was able to remember the entire lesson. Unfortunately, with the start of university, I gradually abandoned this method for different reasons. First of all, I found the difference in teaching between high school and university no longer suited my conceptual maps. On top of that, the amount of study became more important and for a question of timing I could not keep up with all the topics covered. For these reasons I opted for the summarising method, I summarise and rework the lecture notes in my own words. For now, this method seems the most efficient for my university situation.

Lesson Plan 8: Report on Video clip "8 secrets for happy people" and illustrate your personal comments on it.

At the beginning, I think the content of this video is very interesting and helpful for many people. It is also noted that the school system is a cause of stress and frustration for many students, and unfortunately also of cases of depression that can lead to suicide. To cope with this situation, I think positive psychology is a fundamental presence in schools because it helps the psychological wellbeing of students by encouraging them to focus more on their strengths and successes, thus developing greater self-esteem and confidence.

As the video explains every human being, and as I also maintain, every human being should follow a lifestyle full of positivity, and above all I think it is very important to start from small gestures such as personal care , playing sports or dedicating some of your free time to collective activities. In the last period I've been putting into practice one of the tips given in the video, that is, every time I experience a personal situation of which I'm particularly proud or grateful I bring it back to my diary and when I feel down in the dumps, I read these memos and I feel immediately relieved. The latter is an exercise that I would recommend to anyone because it has the ability to lift your day and, consequently, to interact with people around you in a different mood.
