The films purpose was to inform the public on what is actually happening on the streets of the UK, the video goes into detail on the different races that get discriminated against, the video starts with a clip shot on a mobile phone of a racism incident in which someone was discriminated against because of the colour of their skin. This shows us straight away that there are people in this country who are happy to discriminate against someone purely on the colour of their skin or the religion they follow, the film then shows us three different examples of race and religion, one is a muslim lady who wears the full head scarf and walks around a city and sees what peoples reaction are to her and her openness to wear it and to not be afraid to openly wear it in public. The show really shows us what people on our streets are actually like. The music bed in the piece makes us feel her emotions and feeling when she;s telling us stories of her being racially abused it makes us feel how she would in that situation. The piece has interviews with many different people from the different religions, the shots that they use are usually talking head shots, with spare head space, this makes us concentrate on the subject. From watching the film It made me realise how Racist this country actually is. I feel like the piece impacted me and the audience very strongly, it was a very eye opening piece which I would highly recommend.

Professor Green: Suicide and me

The Professor Green film is made to hit home, The film is a story of Professor Greens Father who unfortunately took his own life when. The story Professor Green has is very touching he tells us a lot about his personal experience with his father. The film is professionally shot and has a variety of different interviews and story along with his own. it goes into different stores about other males who have had an experience with suicide and how it has affected their lives. Professor Green interviews his dads old best friend to get more information on how his dad was and what he think could have caused him to kill himself. The first picture you see is a picture of Professor green and his fathers best friend you can see that even though he didn't know his father strongly he still embraces his fathers friend with a hug. The second picture is form an interview he did with a gentleman who has tried to kill himself twice and explains that the main reason he wanted to do it was that he felt alone and didn't feel comfortable talking to other people about his problems, the shot is an over the shoulder shit showing us the Professor green is there and listening intently. The last shot is a wide angle of the two gentlemen talking which shows that they're are communicating on a social level as friends. The film has a lot of professional interviews as well as quite a lot of very simple beds which makes us think a lot into the story. From my research I have found that the piece is very touching and really hits home to the seriousness of suicide in white males between 25-50. The fact that he has let us into his clearly very personal story of his father really opens our eyes, I feel that the impact of the film is going to help people look for the signs of someone who might be thinking about taking their own life, In my opinion there is one part of the piece that really affected me and the audience which is when he visits a house in. London that is specially made for people who are having thought of killing themselves, the house is free to go to and you stay 5 days and each day you have a session where you just talk to someone for an hour about whats going on. I think this shows us what some people out there are doing to help these people in need, the fact he visited and sat in on a session really hit home.

To conclude I feel like both the social action pieces are very hard hitting but the Professor green piece is more impacting, the one thing that makes the Britain racist piece below the other is the fact they had a jewish man who was just wearing a Kippah instead of the full traditional orthodox clothing.
