Session 3: Building on the Foundation, Cooperative Learning: I took away some good techniques on how to group students in b/o rooms, and how to distribute activities that are different than what we are typically doing, such as the 4 Corners strategy, I could see this working in ELA easily!
Session 4: Effective Co-Teaching- this one I really enjoyed seeing how they make other teachers interact and make sure everyone has value.

Session 2: Fishing for Students: Adding Student Engagement with a Hook
Creating a way to get gets excited about class- making it interesting to them, allowing them to share stories that make the learning personal. Perhaps starting with a discussion where they can bring in their own personal experience.

Session 3: Choose Your Own Adventure- Differentiated Instruction Class Connect Sessions- Teachers bring students into a warm up and a lesson, then give students the option to choose to stay in the main room or do a break out room activity that resonates with them. I think this would work great as a wrap up to a math unit.

Use a variety of engagement strategies, get kids up and moving if you are starting to loose them, get to know your students and use their name/interests in math problems, and reward good participation

Session 2: Detecting Quality Word, Individual & Peer Feedback

Students should be expected to self evaluate their work and progress toward a goal. Allows students to be aware of strengths/weaknesses, the demands place upon them, and motivates the student. Speaker went very fast, it was difficult to take notes.

Session 3: Choose Your Own Adventure-Differentiated Instruction

Allow students to choose the way that they want to learn something and at their own pace. Provide a variety of activities and then a real world application of some sort at the end of the session.

Session 4: Engaging Students with Seesaw

A website that is used to effectively differentiate and get all students involved. Teachers create the assignments for students. You can create a portfolio for the year. Students can submit assignments and make comments on their peers' work too. They can respond through doing a recording and video.

Session 4: Cooperative Learning (Kagan)- Loved learning how to incorporate these into my virtual classroom!! I want to include these asap!!

This session had good ideas that would work well with small groups. The speaker gave ways to connect with students such as: using the webcam the whole time, offering specific praise, and celebrating birthdays.
Session 2: Not Another Boring Lecture. This session offered cute ideas; such as using social media templates to engage students.
Session 3: Breaking Through the 4th Wall: How to Build an Engaging, Positive School Culture through Literacy. This session gave some good ideas for working with students on writing. As an example they showed a student's work in draft form and final form. This student had an IEP an was able to feel positive about his writing enough to share with the class. I like how they suggested using a rubric during the stages of writing so that students can see their growth.
Session 4: Incorporating Social Emotional Learning into the Classroom. In this session the best take aways I found were from the breakout room discussion with K5 teachers. Some ideas to promote SEL in the classroom were: having students drag their name to the feeling faces presented on the board and pull those with a sad face into a BOR to check with them. I loved Wendy's presentation on engagement. She had so many great ideas that I will use tomorrow such as group points and "engagement checks". I liked the engagement check where she had students put their pointer on the board and then raise their hand. This shows your right away who is on-task and who is off-task.

Session 2: Get Your Data Live! Data Driven Instruction.
The presenter, Angela Farris had wonderful ideas to collect and use data within the class connect sessions. I really liked the Blackboard quiz idea and I will be using it in my sessions for exit tickets. She talked about opening a Word Document and putting snippets there of data for an easier way to view all the data at once.

Session 3: Engaging Math Sessions K-5.
The presenter had great ideas to use for all ages of students. My favorite was the use of animated graphics. I had no clue we could add those into Blackboard and I will be trying that tomorrow!!

Session 4: Engaging a Classroom Where One Size Does Not Fit All.
Corrie Ray had great ideas to engage students at all times during class connect sessions. I liked the ideas of using Socrative and Google Quiz for warm-ups. She talked about creating break out rooms or "stations" for students to go to based on their understanding and their learning styles.

Session 3: Student Motivation & Engagement in Literacy: Making Students Want to Read - We learned some great strategies for increasing students' reading engagement, fluency and stamina (i.e. Read to a Star, Vocaroo, etc.)

Good ideas so that students know both teachers are in charge. Take turns leading main lesson. If you don't lead main lesson you do warm up, answer questions ect. Write lessons together. Communication is key.

How to use exit tickets effectively and collect the data in a folder that you can go back to later.
There is a quiz tool in blackboard and it puts data into an excel spreadsheet for you.
Use Kahoot - fun interactive site for kids to play a game created by teacher.

Session 3:Engaging Math Sessions K-5
Use of a document camera to model and get kids using their manipulatives.
Picgifs was a cute way to reward students on how they are doing.
Implementing an action slide - basically a 30 sec brain break that gets the kids up and moving.

Session 4: Student motivation/engagement
Vocaroo where students can record their reading and then listen to it.
Have students choose a favorite stuffed animal to read to and leave their mic on in a break out room so you can pop in and hear them reading.

I really enjoyed all of the ideas that were presented to involve the students in learning with a multisensory approach that is easy to lose when teaching in a virtual environment. She referred to Orton Gillingham, which is a great phonics program that incorporates all of the senses.

Session 2: Engaging Math Sessions
We were provided with links to great resources for more engaging lessons, picgifs.com and gonoodle.com. Also, I really loved the ideas that they shared on offering a choice board at the end of the class session for those students who are participating well, in hopes of maintaining and gaining more participation and interest.

Session 3: Choose Your Own Adventure
They shared a smore with links like kahoot.it that you can use to create quizzes to use in different breakout rooms in order to help differentiate more in the classroom.

Session 4: Effective Co-Teaching
They shared that it has been working for them to have several breakout rooms set up with different teachers focusing on different skills. Links were given to help spice up those math lessons! I was really looking forward to possibly getting some different exit ticket ideas, but the main focus here were the lessons themselves.

Session 4: Student Motivation and Engagement/Fishing for students
Student Motivation and Engagement talked about the daily 5 in the classroom while fishing for students focused on short non time consuming ideas you can pop into your lesson to keep those students hooked and engaged.

Session 5: Choose your own adventure
Loved the idea of students who are in a different place in the curriculum still getting that teacher lead instruction. With the curriculum map, it takes away from this slightly, but overall it was a great concept to see in action!

Session 6: Get your Data Live
This session mainly talked about the importance of data and how to get the most of your data in your classroom.
