Since she was a lawyer she called the police and they looked into it. They got a warrant and searched Dr. Shipman's house and found the type writer he used to forge the death certificate, the real cause of deaths, and prescriptions. He was charged with 15 cases of murderer and 1 count of forgery. Dr. Shipman was sentenced for life. And he killed himself only 4 years into his sentence.
