In addition, I learned that a typical Disney movie tends to tell the story from the view of the bourgeoise/ upper class (Rollin 91). The animals in this movie display the story from a proletariat view. This can be attributed to the dominance of the bourgeoise, or due to a lack of interest in lower class struggles. Given these ideas and findings on class, I should investigate the idea of colonial oppression and its presentation in Lady and the Tramp. I would also like to investigate the historical events that preluded Lady and The Tramp to understand the emphasis this movie places on class and capitalism.
