GLAGCreates Submission Zone by Ashley Shunk

Are you ready to take on hunger with powerful messages of you and your students´ art? Everything posted here MUST BE FAMILY FRIENDLY. Do not share this link with students. This is an educator-only Padlet. Educators should post all of their students´ work here.

Here are some ideas:
1. Photography: Food Security and Harmony with Nature

2. Poetry: Upload your poetry and let your voice be heard.

3. Send videos: You can add videos here too about your experiences. Feel free to use a greenscreen if you want! Some ideas are interviews or theatrical performances.

4. Clay, paintings, and drawings

5. Lego scenes depicting food security issues

6. Upload a segment of a podcast that you make with your class.
Required: A final product of the arts that highlights some issue in food security.
Be sure to include an artist statement. What was the inspiration behind your art?

OPTIONAL:
Comment on two other peoples´ posts. What do you like about their message?

Painting inspired by collaboration with Rydings College in Zimbabwe. Our students have been learning about alternate energy sources and will travel to Zimbabwe in the near future for a transatlantic educational experience. At Booker T. Washington, we are eagerly anticipating a statue of Booker T, a community garden to deal with food insecurity in the surrounding area and wind turbines to light up the football fields and community garden at night. I am excited about using art to elevate the conversation of food insecurity. In particular, I am excited about the opportunity to utilize my creativity to build an art classroom in Zimbabwe and empower children around the world.- Maya Imani Watson
