Is there any differences between a post assessment question and follow up questions

We ask a follow-up question to know the reasoning behind a pupil's answer. So that we can have an idea if they got the answer with an understanding. Also, it gives us an opportunity to know what methods the pupil used to answer the question. That could be a post-assessment at times.

But basically what we expect as a post-assessment is an open-ended question that provides an opportunity for the pupil to explain their understanding of a question or concept.

Eg- Can you explain what is the most important thing we learned in this slide?

What should we follow to avoid this type of mistake in the future when we try similar questions?

Can you summarize what we learned so far?

Can you recall the steps from the beginning?
