Gaining Experience

As a teenager, I found my passion in working with young students through babysitting and teaching dance lessons at my local dance studio. Knowing that working with kids in some form would be a part of my future career, I applied for a job at Batesville Preschool to gain more experience in working with kids. Working at a preschool, I worked with students of all ages, helping them grow and develop in their education! I also got the opportunity to work with elementary students in the school district through the after school and dance programs. Through this amazing opportunity, I discovered that becoming a teacher was what I wanted to pursue!

College Life

After graduating high school, I decided to attend the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for one year to earn my Associates Degree. With this, I was able to transfer to the University of Arkansas with a major tuition discount. I am now currently a sophomore at UARK majoring in Elementary Education! With the courses I have taken and the ones that are on my course plan, I am gaining the skills I need to become an elementary teacher. I have also started working at the Goddard School of Fayetteville to further build my experience in educational practices!

Future Career

After I graduate from the University of Arkansas in 2028, I plan to find a teaching position as soon as possible! I am also interested in getting my masters in elementary education to gain more career opportunities, which is something I am currently looking in to. My goal as a teacher is to go beyond teaching the required skills that students need, but to help them grow as thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. I want to change the lives of students by teaching them that they can do hard things, even when it seems impossible!
