Employers are prohibited from requiring women with difficult periods to work during that time.<br><br>Introduced in 1948 and amended in 2003, <strong>Indonesia's</strong> policy grants workers experiencing menstrual pain exemption from working during the first two days of their menstrual cycle.<br><br>Workers in the <strong>Philippines </strong>are entitled to two days of menstrual leave per month.<br><br><strong>The Act of Gender Equality</strong> in Employment in <strong>Taiwan</strong> allows employees to request a monthly day off as period leave, compensated at half their regular wage.<br><br>Under <strong>South Korea's labor law</strong>, female workers are provided with monthly physiologic leave, allowing them to take a day off every month.<br><br><strong>Vietnam's labor law </strong>originally mandated a 30-minute break for women daily during their period cycle. In 2020, a three-day leave per month was introduced, with those not availing the leave eligible for additional pay.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br></div><div><strong>Parliamentary Measures<br></strong>Efforts have been made at the parliamentary level to address menstrual leave and related rights.</div><ul><li>The <strong>Menstruation Benefits Bill, 2017</strong> was introduced in Parliament to address menstrual leave, but unfortunately, it was not given due consideration.</li><li>Subsequently, the <strong>Women’s Sexual, Reproductive and Menstrual Rights Bill, 2018</strong> was introduced, but it did not receive approval.</li><li>The <strong>Right of Women to Menstrual Leave and Free Access to Menstrual Health Products Bill, 2022</strong> is a new proposal to be presented in Parliament. This bill aims to provide meaningful support:<ul><li>It proposes three days of paid menstrual leave for women and transwomen during their menstruation period.</li><li>The bill recognizes the impact of menstrual health on students, with approximately 40% of girls missing school during their periods and nearly 65% experiencing an impact on their daily activities at school.</li></ul></li></ul>]]></description>
