We are also using exit slips at the end of lessons. One of the tools we need to extend is the self-reflection piece on the exit slips. Students perform and we respond. We currently use SmartMusic software to assess home practice progress as well. We use rubrics so students understand where they are on the continuum. Students create artifacts that demonstrate their learning. They also write reflections and have verbal discussions with us to share how they progressed in their skills. They share about how they problem solved, persevered, collaborated, and used resources.
