-          Example: How can we + increase the proportional reasoning of our Grade 4 students + by involving students in the assessment process?

- use more inquiry based (open ended) questions in math. To use manipulatives and better communicate their understanding.

- use math talks to expose students to math language

Goal: have a monthly math talk. Record student's comments/conversation/vocabulary, etc. and document how the math talks are influencing their ability to answer open ended/inquiry questions in math

- teaching that equity does not mean that everything is the same. Fairness is giving everyone what they need.

Goal: have a monthly TRIBES activity/ Zones of Regulation Activity. Encourage students to talk about their strengths, needs, how they can help others, etc. Document how these activities are influencing your classroom environment.

-establishing community and providing leadership opportunities for every student. Ensure students feel safe, valued, and respected.

-school working together to build community through various activities (yoga, dance, art, mix the grades, etc.).

-teaching strategies to deal with friend's behaviours and feelings through TRIBES

-whole school rotation, zones of regulation, Mind Up, etc.
