To use manipulatives and better communicate their understanding.<br><br></div><div>- use math talks to expose students to math language<br><br></div><div>Goal: have a monthly math talk. Record student's comments/conversation/vocabulary, etc. and document how the math talks are influencing their ability to answer open ended/inquiry questions in math</div><div><strong>Equity</strong></div><div>- teaching that equity does not mean that everything is the same. Fairness is giving everyone what they need.</div><div>Goal: have a monthly TRIBES activity/ Zones of Regulation Activity. Encourage students to talk about their strengths, needs, how they can help others, etc. Document how these activities are influencing your classroom environment.</div><div><strong>Well Being</strong></div><div>-establishing community and providing leadership opportunities for every student. Ensure students feel safe, valued, and respected.</div><div>-school working together to build community through various activities (yoga, dance, art, mix the grades, etc.).</div><div>-teaching strategies to deal with friend's behaviours and feelings through TRIBES</div><div>-whole school rotation, zones of regulation, Mind Up, etc.</div><div>Goal: have a monthly Mind Up (purchase resource for divisions/grade teams) activity. Document how these activities are influencing student's self-awareness, and mindfulness.
