Students at my practicum placement at Highlander Charter are working on adding and subtracting two digit numbers. Currently, the students are using the standard algorithm to solve these kinds of equations. However, one math game I found that could be helpful in helping the students to better understand adding and subtracting two digit numbers is with number puzzles. With number puzzles, a whole number is shown/ written in a variety of ways. It is up to the students to determine which forms of the number are equal to the number they are trying to solve for. There  is one number, which fits in the middle of the puzzle, and four forms of that number, which are the puzzle pieces. Once the student finds all of the pieces and puts them together, they will have a complete puzzle. "Circle the sign and then you're fine."
