hello, sir thor! when you first mentioned to our class that you were leaving ADDU, i felt sad talaga sir. as a very tabian na student, i always try to get to know my teachers especially when they are so good in teaching. teachers like that never fails to amaze me, lalo na right now na it’s very hard to find teachers so genuine in teaching. i first heard about you through my cousin who is now in g12, she said you were a terror teacher because always may oral recitation. that scared me, of course, but when we first met personally i didn’t feel any type of fear but i felt more curious. during class, you would sometimes discuss without a ppt which shocked us because we were used to having a presentation while discussing. nevertheless, despite not having a presentation your way of teaching really allowed us to fully comprehend the topic. now that you have found a greater opportunity, all the students genuinely wish you will reacher greater heights. i hope you will always remember that you were once a part of a humss students’ journey and will be always a good memory and a big stepping stone to those students.

we love you, sir thor! you were indeed one of the best teachers i experienced in addu.

I do not know whether opening this message with a greeting would be wiser than a farewell, so rather than choose between the two I would like to open with gratitude.

Thank you, sir Thor!

Time really does fly. I remember during the first day, the moment you sat down on the teacher's table, I did not know how to react (in a good way). I felt intimidated the more you spoke to us, yet grew oddly fond at the same time – I believe this was mainly because of the fact that you know HOW to discuss a subject and keep us tuned in at the same time (in layman's terms, you are not a bore). As a matter of fact, it felt surreal to me how we went from discussing point a to point b with such swift and how you exuded so much intelligence!

To be quite frank, I did have quite the expectations coming into the second semester given our experience during the first, and I am glad to say that you surpassed that... Not that it matters, really... <s>(pls feel my sarcasm)</s>

I would hate to take up too much of your time given the amount of letters you have gotten, and so, to conclude mine:

Thank you for giving us the pleasure of having you as one of our educators. I will forever be grateful for the experience that I had being under your care, most especially because it was DISS – you can never go wrong with having an exemplary teacher + one of the best subjects ever, am I right?

Even though it was only for an unfortunately short amount of time, we definitely made the most (or at least as much as we could) out of it!

I pray for goodness, blessings, and abundance on your new journey, sir Thor.

Good Luck and Bon Voyage !!!

– Sienes, M. | Kasui <3

Thank you for being such a fun, engaging, and memorable teacher for our DISS class. From the first day, Mangin already enjoyed your subject. I was very excited about DISS as a HUMSS-specialized subject, and my high expectations were met! That would not have been possible without you, Sir. You were not only able to keep the attention of a bunch of teenagers, but make them excited to learn—a feat in its own right. At first po, the class would giggle about your coffee cup and arnis demonstrations, but everyone knew you were a great teacher talaga. You go the extra mile to explain to us in different contexts the lessons we are studying to really ensure we can comprehend it in both definition and application. I always find myself fully engaged in your class, wanting to answer any question you throw at us and I hope that whatever new opportunity you have will make you as fulfilled as you have made your students feel. DISS has become one of my favorite subjects and you were a large factor into that favor. We will miss you Sir Thor, even if we have only known you for one grading period, you left a lasting impression on us. Above all else, we wish you many blessings and happy moments in your new journey and hope that you are happy!

Although our time with you was short, you have shown us how good of a teacher you are from how effortless you teach your subject and the way you quickly sneak into your students' 💗hearts and minds🧠. You consistently showed your expertise whenever you would go freestyle and discuss our lessons without a PPT. I had suspected that DISS would be one of my top subjects, considering how much I enjoyed UCSP last semester, but having you as our teacher confirmed to me that I was gonna love it even more than I thought. I was never the type to raise my hand and answer questions during class, but the way you teach makes me engage with every single lesson, and I was always ready to participate whenever you do your mini orals, rather than being scared, so I was very happy and grateful to have had you as our DISS teacher. Which is why I was devastated to hear the news that you were leaving. 😥😥😢

I am going to miss you coming into the classroom slightly late and holding your coffee mug, your class openings like with the arnis and the game of the generals, and your comedic quips throughout our sessions.

Dear Sir Thor,

When I first heard about you, a friend told me that you were a really chill and thoughtful teacher. I was excited to see how you would teach, and you definitely lived up to that! You made learning fun and meaningful for all of us, and I’m really thankful for that.

As our first DISS teacher, I’m happy I got to be one of your students. Even though I didn’t participate as much as I’d like (and I wish I did), I know that everyone in class is grateful to have had you as a teacher.

I also love how you always bring your mug to class and make an effort to connect with everyone. It’s nice to have a teacher who’s not only good at teaching but also patient and caring with students.

I’m sad to see you go, but I’m also happy for you as you move on to the next chapter of your life. You’ve inspired me to be more knowledgeable, and I hope to carry that with me.

Thank you po sir! We wish you all the best in whatever comes next!

Teachers are boring, only a few keeps the fire of academia burning

sir thor, thank you for the ephemeral time that we had at Mangin. i must admit, in all of my education, since elementary, you are one of those few handful of teachers that keeps me interested all throughout class. i grew a resentment for those teachers na sobrang 'unbending' hahahahha, and you've broaden my horizons to these kinds of situtations because, in the way you teach, you not only preach by what's in the book; you go deeper, in a visceral level, and that's what makes you, and your teachings remarkable from the others. i guess what i'm trying to say is that, you are authentic, and i hope you retain that in the endeavors that you'll face as you leave addu.

Writing this on day 1 of exams, your departure is Not Exactly a morale booster for the rest of the semester. Brain Dran reference.

Your impact on us and other classes has made it so that people actually care and listen to DISS, and your engaging teaching style is one of the most memorable aspects of Grade 11 so far. Thank you for all the effort and energy you've spent teaching 11-Lalemant on Thursday and Friday. DISS and PracRes are the subjects I look forward to every week the most, with you and the way you engage with the curriculum being precisely why.

Hopefully you prosper outside the country and receive an abundance of employment opportunities.
