- From the beginning of the novel, it starts off with Robert Walton; the captain of a sailing ship sending letters of whats happening in the recent voyage. It's all past tense and none of whats going on in the text is happening right at that moment. Mary Shelley used this type of technique of one character telling a story of another character to one another. For example, Robert Walton is somewhat listening to Victor's side of the story. That specific story also has the monster's story as well. Most of the words that are being said is from Walton which leads to the Victor and the monster telling their sides of the story. It somewhat confuses the reader.

EQS: How does the author address Universal Characters and Psychology Universally?

- Characters such as Safie would be an example because she is part Muslim. Peace and harmony should be shown to every religion and despise hate.

- Psychology Universally: The monster is always being rejected by people throughout the book. For example, the Delacy family didn't accept the monster. People didn't like how he looked like which really tells us about the world today, we don't accept everyone in their lives.
