Romans designed many structures and inventions to made their lives easier. Engineers in the time, built roads to guide soldiers, and aqueducts to transport water from mountains. These gave water to bathhouses, rich homes, and fountains.

Roman architects were very much like Roman engineers. They both made ways to improve and strengthen buildings. Architects wanted to build strong, build, and beautiful buildings. That explains why most buildings Roman buildings looked like buildings from Greece. Romans took ideas from the Greek builders, and made it better for themselves. This inspired a new style of architecture.

Is was no only architecture that the Romans were influenced by the Greek. Romans wanted to make their art look like it was going to come alive. They particularly excelled in portraits. Some viewers may even be able to tell what kind of personality the person had.

In philosophy, Romans weren't influenced by the Greek. Greek philosophers thought about ideal worlds. Roman philosophers thought of how to improve people's lives. A group of Roman philosophers called the Stoics. This group told people not to be concerned about possessions, but virtuous life. Roman philosophers worked for the gain of the cities, and not for themselves.

The Romans gave way to modern day art, thinking, engineering, and architect. For example, the Romans made aqueducts and we use a device close to this for hot, dry areas like Riverside. In philosophy, Romans thought of ways to improve lives and have better ways of doing an activity. Engineers made roads and devices to help mining and travel. Roman art inspired people to make it even better and made a bust look like it could move. Romans gave way to modern building. If you look around and compare, we have a civilization similar to the Roman's. A bridge in England, looks a lot like a Roman bridge, which is an example that Romans gave way to our era.A bridge from England and a bridge that Romans made. If you think about it, this Roman bridge, looks like a few bridges from England.
