4 - Well-Fitted Suit

This suit is the most elevated of outfits. The intricate and careful details blessing this suit can compare to an essay's nuanced commentary and numerous supporting claims. The carefully-selected tie of this suit is just like an essay's specific language choices, helping to raise this special garb to its full potential. Unfortunately, not everyone could pull off something like this and the perfectly-tailored suit can be hard to find.

3 - Casual Dress

These are a timeless classic. They're not the best piece of clothing to hit the market, but they can't get any worse than they are. When you take into account the other aspects of the outfit that go along with it, they're perfect for a wide variety of occasions. Similar to an essay with satisfying commentary that builds its argument well, a dress is not the most grand, but it's definitely up there.

2 - Hoodie & Sweatpants

Maybe this isn't the worst outfit someone could pull out of the closet, but it's far from the best. It’s simplistic, you don't have to put much into it, and it's only good for a few casual situations, just like an essay that mixes up low-effort generalizations with some specific evidence. This outfit also gets very repetitive after a while.

1 - Coveralls

It's a step up from a total failure, but it's still far from stylish. It's... clothing. It's not an article of clothing you can wear everywhere, and it's plain to the point that it leaves much to be desired. In that regard, it's like an essay with no specific details and just a bunch of summaries.

0 - Total Outfit Fail

It might be an outfit, but something went wrong and it's hard to tell what was meant to be happening here. It's a thrown-together, incoherent mess, with no substance or deeper thought, just like an essay that earns 0 evidence and commentary points.

1 - Runway Outfit

It's gorgeous! Not everybody can just walk out of the house rocking an ensemble this good, but those models walking down the runway do it with ease. If you think about it, they're like the writers who earn the sophistication point effortlessly. And, like the essay that wins that sophistication point, outfits that hit the runway were made by designers exploring the compexities and nuances of fashion, further than someone who's putting on their everyday outfit.

0 - Shirt and Jeans

Anyone's basic go-to outfit. No one's going to call this ugly or say it's the worst outfit they've ever laid eyes on. It satisfies the requirements for most public outings, but you can't really take this one, at its base, somewhere too special. Sometimes you have to spruce it up a bit -- and you can! Maybe it hasn't reached its full potential yet, but look a little deeper into your closet, pull out some fancy shoes and a nice jacket, and you could call yourself a fashionista. But not everybody is a fashionista, and most of the time when you try too hard to be one, it simply doesn't work. It's a lot like the sophistication point — either you nail it, or you don't. This one doesn't necessarily nail it, but that's fine — it's good enough.

1 - White T-Shirt

The baseline article of clothing. Dress it up, keep it plain and simple, love it or hate it, it's a staple item for anyone's closet. Just like a clear, defensible thesis, good or bad, at the very least, it's there.

0 - Swimsuit

Nah. A swimsuit definitely covers up something, but can you really call this clothing? Just like a thesis that only restates the prompt, it's hard to think of this as something that anyone's going to accept as an outfit.
