Advent of abstraction in art through art revolutions like cubism, and the introduction to modern art in the modern world. It can be the ugliest of emotions like revenge or the sweetest of emotions like that of love, it can be the sweet and sour taste of friendship or the bitterness of betrayal, but like a mirror of truth, our heart tells us who we are. As we grow our heart changes, our priorities change, our feelings for things change, when you look deep inside it is like walking through a hall of mirrors, all laid out on display, but none can see it but you, the holder of this array. We then realized that there was one thing we had in common - the same passion and love we have for our respective art forms. In our piece today, each of us have picked one item (something that may seem simple and mundane to the rest of society) that we feel truly represents our art form and, in a way, also represents our identity through this art. What is more widely felt than our very own human senses? Technology and medicine tells us where and how we taste, smell, feel, see or hear- but it is art through which we can truly express these senses. Therefore we have decided to take up these aforementioned senses. One of the painting depicts the sense "hearing" .... with this painting I wanted to show the awareness of the disabled adults and young one ... the beauty of sign language and they way the use their eyes to understand... Smells bring up memories and reflections of ourselves and our loved ones. This painting shows the differing interpretations of self reflection, a smell that is a representation of an individual- throughout the stages of life. Taste is one of the basic senses which helped our ancestors and us survive. Through this painting I wanted to portray the diversity of flavours/food types we have and if it had not been the sense of taste we would’ve never got the opportunity to enjoy them the most.

In the hopes of bringing those little changes, we bring to you ‘Rephrased – to Here and to Now.’ Older works of art represent their society, however times have changed and, in an effort, to represent us and who are we now, we have made our own versions of these famous paintings. Bringing another element, of the classic arts – Beauty and the Beast – we take their music and make it our own. In the end, we reflect on life, on what we allow ourselves to see and to change.
