The persona's tone in "One Art" is that of acceptance and denial. Throughout the whole poem, the persona repeats the phrase "The art of losing isn't hard to master." which seems to be convincing herself that losing is part and parcel of life, forcing herself to accept it. Furthermore, the constant repetition of the phrase shows how difficult it is for her to accept it, needing to constantly remind and repeat the point to herself. At the start, the persona loses insignificant items and as the poem progresses the lost items become more and more important to her, which shows that although she seems to be nonchalant about loss, she still holds some regret/sadness towards these items.
