         <title>Electronic books have become effective tools for reading and learning in academic work. The widespread popularity of e-books within education offers a number of advantages over the traditional books. But whether e-reading may be considered prevalent over reading its print counterpart is the question that claims a research. Reading speed and comprehension are critical for academic performance. &quot;Reading on a screen is approximately 20 percent slower than reading on paper&quot; (Nielsen, 2000) and &quot;readers obtain slightly lower comprehension scores than p-book readers&quot; (Macedo-Rouet et al. 2003). The reasons are mostly the poor presentation of the text, eye fatigue and the users’ overall perceptions based on habits. Some improvements in device capabilities will solve the problems in the near future for “digital immigrants”, as cognitive abilities of young people, or “digital natives” (Prensky, 2001) have already predisposed them to get benefits from the digital language. And there are plenty of  them. &quot;E-book readers can find specific content more easily and more efficiently than in a p-book&quot; (Shelburne, 2009). The breadth of information available through hot links and free e-book collections &quot;offers an advantage in emerging economies both to students and educators by broadening an access to resources at less cost.&quot; (Eicker-Nel &amp; Matthee, 2014). New updates are available through the global search, giving an opportunity to save space by using cloud platforms instead of bulky libraries. Writing highlights and notes with an e-reader improves the process of learning.E-book technology is more flexible, accessible, less costly than p-books. More native paper readers will choose e-books, as e-reading supports students and faculty in the educational discipline.
