This also marked the beginning of WWII because two days later, the allied nations declared war on Germany to protect Poland. The polish people were the most involved with this event and launched as many counter-attacks as they could but, they were heavily out numbered, out gunned and out classed by the German soldiers. The polish invasion was quick and precise, providing almost no losses for the Germans. However, while Poland may have been defeated, its citizens were not. Due to the loss of Poland to the Germans, Polish citizens began to help out the allied nations even more than before. They used their intelligence networks to gain vital information during the war for the allied nations. The Polish even helped crack the Enigma code which had held back war efforts for several years. Poland's situation may have been a big loss for the Poles but, in the end, It was a vital step forward in the efforts to win WWII. Nowadays, Poland has regained much of its former glory, providing nearly 10% of the total population of Europe as well as having one of the largest land masses in Europe. It is also a major part of the European Union and has a GDP that climbs over 500 Billion Euros. These laws institutionalized much of racist Nazi ideology towards the Jews. After Kristallnacht, 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to Nazi concentration camps. These leaflets became known as the White Rose. The White Rose resistance encourage people to think for themselves, toy awknowledge the horror around them, and to do do something about it. This was important because it was difficult to start such a group during the Holocaust. This group gave people the courage to protest the Nazi regime. More people started groups like the White Rose Society which played a role in ending the unjust treatment of Jews during the Nazi Regime. A significant figure that was rising in Germany during the 1930's was Hitler, the leader of the Nazi political party. 1933 was when he came to power and from 1933 to 1939, he started getting even more control to the point where he was making policies that affected the lives of many people. This time period was significant because the early 30's was when the Nazi Party started to rise and their political belief that there should be one group that controls all, which might not be significant to today's society but to the Europeans that were involved in this time period. The impact Nazi Germany had society was employment, education, family, culture/leisure, and religion (in a negative way). The policies and programs Hitler and Nazi's made affected the lives of Europeans greatly. Lastly, a modern connection that can be made relating to Nazi Germany is Islamic Fascism.
