I feel like this involves disappointment because when she apologizes, she is actually in a deep part of disappointment with herself after feeling like Jeannette did not protect Maureen the way she promised. Also, after that the family doesn't meet up as much after Maureen leaves. That moment changes things for each of them. This all happened after Maureen got arrested and got sentenced to time in a hospital in upstate New York.

I think this is a good example of chaos and order because it was brought up from Stanley (her uncle) touching jeanette inappropriately and jeanette was fed up so she went to go tell her mom and Rose Mary was more concerned about Stanley being lonely than her daughter being touched inappropriately by a grown man. I think this was a good example of unconditional love because it does show that Jeanette always had that love towards Rex even though he put her through the worst. I feel like This is a good example of fantasy vs reality because it shows the fantasy of Rex caring for his daughter, yea he did give money to her, but this was one of the only times he did. The reality of this was when his family needed him the most he would always be out drinking and partying, he would never give attention or protection to his wife nor his kids.

I think this quote fell into the category of identity, but it could be the coming-of-age as well because Them having to dig in the trashcan at school to eat really showed how poor they were and how they didn't have access to food at home, and it showed a lot about their lifestyle. I think this is a good example of acceptance because it shows that Rose Mary had to face the reality and get a job because jeanette wants to get out of the life they are living in, and she was fed up. Jeanette knew her mom could get a job in a heartbeat in McDownwell County as a teacher, but Rose Mary thought it was an awful life which jeanette thought otherwise by saying "worse than this?".
