Use images, text, and sound to introduce background information, important people, or key events to get the students engaged. Students can record themselves to help improve their fluency. To do this, they can use digital tools such as their smart phones or they can use screen casting software such as Jing, ScreenChomp, or TouchCast to create a screencasts that shows the students explaining how they solved the problems. Teachers can assign online scavenger hunts that have the students explore, compare and contrast, classify, or evaluate the knew content by watching content related videos, images, or tutorials. A website that is good for this is the TED talks or Khan Academy.
