Repetitive music done right - In my opinion.

Good repetition in music is not constant. There are breaks, a small or large respite from the repetition that allows us to relax a bit, and also appreciate what both the repetition and the break signalize.

I listen to the same album while I study - I like the consistency and the repetition of it helps me concentrate on what I'm doing. Ratliff echoes this statement: "Repetition is a smart psychological operation—a way to make you focus on all that is in fact nonrepetitive. The music seems to stay put, while you (or your perceptions) change." (Ratliff, 16.)

"At what point can you assume that repetition only leads to more of the same, or that it won’t lead you to a new perception of what you’re hearing?" (Ratliff, 17).

Repetition in music is as close as we get to infinity, as it repeats over and over. The song is usually trying to make a statement when it repeats, because it wants to get a certain phrase or tune in your head. It is done purposefully.

I Like repetition in some regards

I think repetition makes a statement, and quite like it in movies and poems, where it's clear there's a theme to it. It's harder for me to tell in music what they're trying to show, and also gives me a slight headache to listen to the same thing repeated. I usually don't have the energy to delve into the deeper meaning, because I'm too busy trying to get it out of my head.
