Refers to a wide variety of educational programs, learning experiences, instructional approaches, and academic-support strategies that are intended to address the distinct learning needs, interests, aspirations, or cultural backgrounds of individual students and groups of students. 4 keys of SCL:- 1) Personalized Learning: Tailoring of pedagogy, curriculum and learning environments by learners or for learners in order to meet their different learning needs and aspirations.

2) Competency-based Learning: An educational technique that can be applied in many fields and learning environments. It is an area of pedagogical research and is not adequately understood in one, single learning domain.

3) Learning happens anytime, anywhere: Education nowadays doesn't just take place in stuffy classrooms and university buildings, it can happen everywhere, everyday to every person.

4) Students take ownership: Self assessment and reflection against learning goals allow students to take ownership of their learning, in partnership with their teacher. Students are working towards becoming self-managing and self-regulated.

Activity 3- Student Centered Learning : The term student-centered learning refers to a wide variety of educational programs, learning experiences, instructional approaches, and academic-support strategies that are intended to address the distinct learning needs, interests, aspirations, or cultural backgrounds of individual students and groups of students. Student-centered learning most likely arose in response to educational decisions that did not fully consider what students needed to know or what methods would be most effective in facilitating learning for individual students or groups of students. For example, many traditional approaches to schooling could be considered “school-centered,” rather than student-centered, because schools are often organized and managed in ways that work well for organizational operations, but that might not reflect the most effective ways to educate students.

4 key principles of SCL:

a) SPACE: creative, dynamic, mobile, emotionally safe, cognitively agitating

b) PLACE: the honors their history that stirs their enthusiasm and curiosity that they connect with in fundamentally non academic ways that reflects their needs that they believe they can impact

c) VOICE: in assessment and curriculum form that grows that their understanding does that reflect who they really are in class room conversations in local community and around national and global event.

D) CHOICE: in content and priority in medias form and content distribution in audience for their work in learning strategies, literacy strategies in pace and sequence.

known as learner-centered education, encompasses methods of teaching that shift the focus of instruction from the teacher to the student. Student-centered learning aims to develop learner autonomy and independence by putting responsibility for the learning path in the hands of students. Student-centered instruction focuses on skills and practices that enable lifelong learning and independent problem-solving. Student-centered learning theory and practice are based on the constructionist learning theory that emphasizes the learner's critical role in constructing meaning from new information and prior experience.
