Factors that enabled Singapore to successfully navigate through challenges in the maritime industry:

Geographical locations. Singapore is a pretty strategic location with many countries around it and it is near malacca strait so Singapore would act as a port for ships to stop and prepare.
Good governance, low rates of corruption

What we think will happen SG’s maritime industry is not doing well:

GDP drop, unemployment rate increase, SG wont be important in global trade
Foods and goods would be more expensive

I learnt that every 2-3 minutes, a ship leaves or arrives at SG’s port! Singapore is also the second largest port and is aiming to expand the Tuas Port to an automated one by 2040.

I learnt that maritime trade is an important part of Singapore's economy, making up a huge part of our economy. So we should learn and understand more about them. To accommodate for more goods, Singapore is to open up the Tuas Port, which would be really useful to us, as there would be more imports coming into Singapore as well as more exports leaving the country. Maritime trade also allows global-connectedness, allowing different countries to trade goods with each other.
